Reactive hypoglycemia is recurrent episodes of symptomatic low blood sugar occurring 1–2 hours after a high carbohydrate meal. It may be the result of excessive insulin release triggered by the carbohydrate meal that continues after digestion and disposal of the glucose from the meal.
